Mojo
"Mojo is one of the best noir novels I’ve read in a long time. It felt a lot to me like a modern version of the classic movie “Chinatown.” I love stories about the dark side of Los Angeles, and author Brandon Dellums takes us right into the down and dirty. Title character Karen Mojo is a hot mess, her own worst enemy, and her unpredictable nature drives this story that kept me guessing till the end. There’s a deepness here in the writing, too, that goes beyond most stories in this genre. I found myself rooting for Karen to not just solve the crime, but battle personal demons from a background that is not explored enough in modern fiction. Hope this is just the first in a Mojo series!"
95 South
"Instantly engaging as amalgamating circumstances unfold, Lucky along with some other characters who are neither credible nor good, (nonetheless you find yourself rooting for, anyhow) have some engaging personas reeking with the need to be visual. Brandon Dellum's voice in this imaginative, detailed first novel leads to thoughts of a potential wide screen appreciation of 95 SOUTH"
"Looking for the perfect summer read? Then buy this book!!!! It's part love story, part revenge fantasy, part road trip, with an ode to South Beach mixed in. It's packed with authentic characters and witty dialogue. I didn't want to put it down!! It's fun, sexy and smart, and I hope Brandon Dellums publishes another story about Lucky soooooooon!!!!"
The Sweet Spot
"This book reads like a movie, though it gives depth of character and story complexities that you can only find in a good book. It's Creed meets Death of a Salesman. The main character is the Everyman we all have known, and his journey from an unemployed white-collar dad to the world of prizefighting is both poignant and exciting. I enjoy boxing stories, but this is the first one that really took me into the ring and made me feel what it might be like to be in a boxing match. It even answered the age-old question for me - why do people do this? The seasoned Trainer is a great character, along with the various supporting cast and the side stories. I really enjoyed this book. On a side note, this is a good book for young male readers. As a mom of a son, I found that after Harry Potter, there wasn't much of interest for teenage boys. Put it on your kid's summer read list. It's one they'll like."
Dream Cafe
"Deam Cafe is a terrific read, full of unique, compelling characters, unexpected plot twists, love, grief, and adventure. I highly recommend this gripping page-turner!!!"
